Common Grid Model Methodology

National Commission for Energy Control and Prices (NCC) implementing the Commission Regulation (EU) establishing a guideline on forward capacity allocation (FCA) approved the Common Grid Model Methodology (CGMM) which was developed by EU TSOs in cooperation with national regulatory authorities.

The approved Common Grid Model will be used to represent the best possible forecast of transmission system conditions for forward capacity allocation and orderly price formation.

NCC already approved  Common Grid Model Methodologies implementing the Commission Regulation (EU) establishing a guideline  on electricity transmission system operation and the Commission Regulation (EU) establishing a guideline on capacity allocation and congestion management. National Regulatory Authorities consider that the three common grid model methodologies, once approved, could be amended in order to have only one consolidated methodology that will meet the provisions of the three Regulations.
