On 11 September, 2018, the delegation of the Japan Electric Power Information Center (JEPIC) visited the NCC.
Representatives of the NCC presented information on the NCC activities, consumers' rights protection, shared the experience in tariffs' setting, described the current structure of the electricity market and legal provisions promoting electricity generation through the use of renewable sources. The representative of the State Energy Inspectorate presented the process for issuing licenses for electricity generation activity. The delegations also discussed the issues related with the Lithuanian electricity market's liberalization, guaranteed supply activities.
In the meetings that will last throughout the week the JEPIC delegation together with the Lithuanian institutions and stakeholders active in the energy sector will discuss the Lithuanian energy strategy, in particular focusing on the developments in the electricity sector.
It is expected that the visit will contribute to the enhancement of bilateral cooperation, including in the economic sector, investment promotion. The material, gathered during the visit, will be presented to the Japanese Government institutions.
