On 9 April, 2018 a delegation of the project Smart Energy Transition to Upgrade Regional Performance (SET-UP) visited the NCC.
The SET-UP project partners from the Bretagne Innovation Development Agency, Regional Council of Brittany (France), Transdanubian Regional Development Agency (Hungary), Andalusian Energy Agency (Spain), Regional Energy and Environment Agency of Algarve (Portugal), Regen Southwest Innovation Center, Leicester Energy Agency (United Kingdom), Kaunas Regional Energy Agency (Lithuania) shared good practices from the represented countries on new technologies to be used for smart metering implementation in the countries.
Representatives of the NCC presented information on legal provisions promoting electricity generation through the use of renewable sources and grid access. “I am glad to welcome you to the discussion on consumer oriented and effective solutions for smart metering” – said the Chair of NCC Ms Inga Žilienė welcoming the international delegation.
The Interreg Europe funded SET-UP project is expected to strengthen the attention of Lithuanian stakeholders to smart metering. The overall goal of the SET-UP project is to improve energy performance of the 6 partner regions by enhanced policies on smart metering. On a medium to long term better energy demand management achieved will lead to reduced energy consumption and greater energy security, with connected socio-environmental and economic benefits.
